Description :

Treat yourself to an iconic scene from ancient Egypt with this Egyptian papyrus, a handcrafted work inspired by ancient frescoes and 19th-century illustrations.

Hand-painted in mixed media, the composition, which features three female musicians, is inspired by the famous tomb of Nakht (scribe and astronomer at the temple of Amun) located in the Valley of the Nobles in Gournah, during the 18th dynasty (around 1400 BC).

This work is also influenced by the refined style of the draughtsman and Egyptologist Émile Prisse d'Avennes, whose precise lines and nuanced palettes marked the history of Orientalist art in the 19th century. It is these inspirations that make the selection of papyri from Nilazur so beautiful.

A scene of music and life

In ancient Egypt, music occupied a central place in religious rituals, ceremonies, and festivals. Female musicians played the harp, lute, flute, sistrum, and tambourine, accompanying sacred chants or moments of celebration. This papyrus captures all of its grace and elegance.

An object of art, between heritage and aesthetics

This beautiful Egyptian papyrus, painted using a mixed media technique (block print and gouache), combines traditional craftsmanship with artistic expression. It will enhance a refined interior:
• As wall decoration in a living room or library
• An original gift for an Egypt or music enthusiast
• Or simply as an object of contemplation and culture
