In the heart of the Fayoum oasis, the village of Tunis is a place where ceramic art has held an essential place for millennia.

Thirty years ago, Evelyne Porret, a Swiss potter, founded a school to pass on her know-how to the young people of the village, thus reviving a primary art. Today, her students have opened workshops and teach in turn. Although the school remains a central element, many independent workshops exist in Tunis, each creating unique pieces. The potters produce works that combine tradition and innovation, appreciated both locally and internationally by collectors.

Each creation is the result of ancestral know-how enriched by the creativity of artisans, telling the story of the village, the beauty of the flora and fauna, and conveying a simple and authentic joy of living.
