In the heart of the Fayoum oasis, the village of Tunis is a place where ceramic art has occupied an essential place for millennia.
Thirty years ago, Swiss potter Evelyne Porret founded a school to pass on her expertise to the village's youth, reviving a primary art. Today, her students have opened workshops and are now teaching in their own right. While the school remains a central focus, numerous independent workshops exist in Tunis, each creating unique pieces. The potters produce works that combine tradition and innovation, appreciated both locally and internationally by collectors.
