Description:

Immerse yourself in the millennia-old wisdom of ancient Egypt with this majestic Egyptian papyrus featuring the Goddess Ma'at with outstretched wings, created on an authentic Papyrus support from the Nile Delta.

The artwork depicts the goddess Ma'at, symbol of balance, truth, and justice, gracefully spreading her blue and green wings, adorned with her ostrich feather. It is a reproduction of a fresco located in the tomb of Nefertari, the great royal wife of Ramses II, situated in the Valley of the Queens (one of the most famous and impressive tombs of ancient Egypt). Each piece is painted using a refined mixed media technique: block print engraving, India ink, gouache, luminous pigments, and golden highlights. A true masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Who is Maât?

Goddess of cosmic, social, and moral order, Maât embodies truth and justice in Egyptian mythology. It is to her that every deceased soul must account. During the judgment of the dead, her emblematic feather is placed on a scale, opposite the heart of the deceased. This ritual determines their access to the afterlife. A strong symbolism, still relevant today.
