Egyptian Papyrus The Musicians of the Nile (60 x 90 cm red and black version)
Taxes included
A fragment of eternal Egypt: a handmade and painted papyrus according to traditions, celebrating the grace and music of the Nile.
This Egyptian papyrus is made in Egypt, in the Nile Delta, using the iconic papyrus plant according to the original method. Hand-painted in mixed media, the composition featuring three female musicians is inspired by the famous tomb of Nakht (scribe and astronomer at the temple of Amon) located in the Valley of the Nobles in Gournah, during the 18th dynasty (around 1400 BC).
This work is also influenced by the refined style of the designer and Egyptologist Émile Prisse d’Avennes, whose precise lines and nuanced palettes have marked the history of Orientalist art in the 19th century. It is these inspirations that make the beauty of Nilazur's selection of papyrus.
A scene of music and life
In ancient Egypt, music held a central place in religious rituals, ceremonies, and festivities. Female musicians played the harp, lute, flute, sistrum, or tambourine, accompanying sacred songs or moments of joy. This papyrus captures all the grace and elegance.
