This Egyptian papyrus is made in Egypt, in the Nile Delta, with the emblematic papyrus plant using the original method. Made in mixed media, the composition featuring three musicians is inspired by the famous tomb of Nakht (scribe and astronomer at the temple of Amon) located in the Valley of the Nobles at Gournah, under the 18th dynasty (around 1400 BC).
This iconography is also influenced by the refined style of the draftsman and Egyptologist Émile Prisse d’Avennes, whose precise lines and nuanced palettes marked the history of Orientalist art in the 19th century. These inspirations are what make the beauty of Nilazur's papyrus selection.
