Alabaster:
Alabaster is a rock extracted in Upper Egypt and in the Sinai desert. The manual work of alabaster is a major art in Egypt, existing since the predynastic era and continuing today for the production of sculptures, small containers for cosmetics, and candle holders. Once lit, alabaster becomes translucent and emits a warm, enchanting orange color.
